Three years after his election, the Liberal government of Justin Trudeau- despite the Ottawa Parliament Conservative opposition- is making one of its most symbolic campaign commitment: Canada will be the second state in the world allowing recreational marijuana, after Uruguay in 2013. The idea is to better reflect society’s changing opinion about marijuana and, bring black market operators into a regulated system. This is the first G20 country that legalize recreational cannabis, this historic reform was expected by many Canadians across the country, from both consumers, and sellers. Before that, the use of medical marijuana was legal in Canada since 2001. The Canadian government will not sanction people possessing up to 30 grams of marijuana, the new legal threshold. Legal pot shops are to be opened across the country in the coming days, according to an Associated Press survey of the provinces. Canadians everywhere will be able to order marijuana products through websites run by provinces or private retailers and have it delivered to their homes by mail.
