According to Le Figaro, the yellow vests could be considered “coupists”. Indeed, protests continue in France since more than a week.

In Nice, there were clashes between students and police: 33 people were stopped around one of the city’s biggest high schools, the Parc Imperial, with over 1,700 students. The protest, with clashes and barricades, has also spread to Montpellier and nearby towns, with looting and damage. Two students were slightly injured in the clashes in Beziers, where two cars were overturned and burned, others damaged and eight people were stopped. Violent clashes also happened in Marseille between students on strike and police.

Meanwhile, the seven main unions in France denounced “any form of violence in the expression of claims” by the yellow vests, after the request made yesterday by Emmanuel Macron to the parties and social partners to “launch a clear and explicit call for calm”.

Tomorrow, protest will continue. A lot of Parisian museums and theaters will be closed for security reasons. Seven museums will remain open, including the Grand Palais and the Petit Palais, the modern art museum of the Ville de Paris, the Musée de l’homme and the Musée des Arts et Métiers. Even the Eiffel Tower will be closed.
