After Sunday’s snap parliamentary elections, Yerevan has decided: Armenia’s acting prime minister Nikol Pashinyan electoral bloc has won. After initiating peaceful manifestations in April 2018 that ousted the country’s 10-year President Serzh Sargsyan, Nikol Pashinyan succeeded in triggering snap parliamentary elections in mid-October. The centrist coalition MyStep Alliance, which includes Pashinyan’s Civil Contract Party, won 70.4% of the vote and now has the majority in Parliament.
“We will have [an]absolute majority in a new Parliament and [the] constitutional majority which will allow us to implement allour reforms agenda and there is no doubt that our party, our coalition, will have [a] big majority” declared Prime minister-elect Nikol Pashinyan at a press conference.
“Our coalition has the trust of the Armenian people”, added the Armenian Prime Minister.
